The Bottega Project is about serious, sustainable, beautiful transformation.
“It’s time to build a better future and the time to start is now!”
The Bottega Project aims to generate a model for change to a sustainable, compassionate way of life at a city scale.
It works on a joined up thinking, whole systems basis, , driven by conversations and collaboration at a community level.
We are a not for profit business building unique practical solutions for communities , micro housing, innovative design and construction. Working closely with partner organisations we aim to help strengthen, widen and integrate positive social change.
During the past couple of years with a small team of skilled crafts people and young apprentices we have completed several succesful projects and installed social spaces in the city, providing these at minimal cost for our partners and Cardif City Council.
Our model is to fund many of our activities through sustainable commercial social enterprise supplying bespoke buildings and high end furniture.
Change is possible very quickly if we have the clear intention.
1. Community Engagement
1 A mobile, responsive, creative resource for local communities. To host welcoming and safe spaces, where we work with existing partner organisations to gather and record problems and suggestions, and collaborate on designs and solutions. These might take the form of pop up street repair and construction workshops, cooking get-togethers, mobile arts spaces and sculptural street galleries.
2 Whole systems solutions, fabrication facilities, and training.
To build micro house accomodation for Bottega students and young people, generate income generation through sales of bespoke architectural construction and high end furniture.
Support city food production and distribution, Vertical growing and sharing.
Pioneer innovative creative elderly and social care projects.
Research and build prototype zero carbon delivery vehicles and water taxis.
3. School For Change:
Within 3 years we aim to establish a school for change within Cardiff. We have already have several partner community organisations in the city and we aim to seed and support start up micro social enterprises which work for our communities.
