Meadow Street Woodland Hub

We won a competitive tender with Small Woods in the summer to build a woodland hub structure at Meadow Street Community Gardens in Pontypridd.

We completed the build, a roundwood timber shelter with a reciprocal roof and delivered a series of eight volunteer workshops alongside the building work. These provided new skills and knowledge for volunteers at the gardens, build good relationships and led to this beautiful table being built together. We are in discussions with Pontypridd Town Council who run the gardens about further work and collaboration in 2024.

“Pontypridd Town Council have enjoyed working with the Bottega project at Meadow Street Community Garden. They embraced both the project and the volunteers working within the projects ethos of caring for people and nature. Staff took the time to engage and work with volunteers to design and create a new shelter, seats and table for our woodland space. The team went out of their way to create a space that can be enjoyed by all and one which is sensitive to its environment.
Activities were tailored to participants needs and the feedback was positive and activities were enjoyed by all. We are looking forward to working with Bottega again in the near future.”
